Finished Digipak
Here is the finished Digipak. After we shot the arcade locations and put so many shots of that into the video, I felt that putting them in the Digipak would make it look more like the video and help to connect the three products. This way, the audience will understand the connection between the three - the colours and themes are very similar which means that even though the band are coloured in on the poster, the audience will connect the three products together.

Digipak
Below is my Digipak for the band 'Young Mistakes' the album is also called 'Young Mistakes' as it is there first album. On the Digipak's front cover, I have decided to put the band all in front of a brick wall. The reason for them being in front of this wall is because in their music video for the song 'Alright' they are standing in front of a brick wall at many points. By having the band in front of it on the cover, the audience (if they have seen the music video) will feel more connected with the band and therefore it makes the relationship between the band and audience more personal. The band are all standing naturally as I wanted to make it obviously that, like in the video, they are normal people, doing normal things and that their fans don't need to feel disconnected or any lower than them in any way. By not adding any special effects or using a green screen or having the album look have anywhere too 'high class' on it, the people will understand that the band came from the same roots as they did and are sticking to these roots.
There are two shots of the lead singer, Billy, on his own as although the band are all very close and would have their own profile and fans, he is the face of the band and therefore more known by the public. The shots of him are very natural, with him standing in front of some tree's and a dirty ground. By doing this, he doesn't seem like he is stuck up at all like many other singers.
Both Adam and James have their own shots too, this is because the band isn't just about Billy and they do have a lot to offer for the band. By having their own natural shots, it stops the public from feeling disconnected from the other band members like they do with some other bands. By adding their own part in the Digipak they can all connect with the audience - as opposed to just the lead singer.
Underneath the CD is actually shots of the band, photoshopped together from the music video. I used these particular shots because those that know the music video will recognise these shots as shots from when the band were all having a laugh on camera - which adds to the natural element once again. Also, when the public takes the CD out after having seen the band separate apart from the front cover, they will once again see the band together. In a sense, it portrays that when they are working on their music (by being under the CD) they come together and work as a band well.

After having drawn out the ideas for my digipak I took a 4 panel template to plot the shots I had so far - the six panel is complete now apart from the lyrics and credits. By using the 4 panel with what I had it enabled me to properly envisage what my digipak would look like. Where everything is on this is where it will be on the 6 panel pack, I have just added to two extra shots I have edited.
DIGIPAK - front
This is the main idea for the front of my digipak cover - I felt using the brick wall in the background would bring the band back to the roots of the music video. This also means those that have watched the music video will understand why the background is a brick wall and feel more connected and almost let in on the secret.

digipak development
I photoshopped the band together from their individual parts of the music video to go in my Digipak. The reason I did this is so that the fans that know the music video will feel more connected with the Digipak and band. It also shows that the band never stray away from their roots - they're true to where they came from and I wanted the audience to see them as lighthearted boys that anyone can relate too. There is still work to be done on this picture but this will probably go under the CD.

Audience research
In order to make sure I had the most appealing Digipak for the audiences eye, I did a survey to see which one of my drawn out plans for digipaks (to be uploaded) they liked the most. I asked ten people and 8 of them said that the one with the brick wall as a theme worked the best as the font I had worked well with the picture and after showing them the music video, they understood and felt more connected with the idea's from that plan. 1 said that he wasn't sure and the other one liked the one with the band's faces all photoshopped in together. I've gone with the majority and chosen the brick wall as the theme for my digipak. Here are some of the comments made about that Digipak idea:
"I love the idea, I think that the audience will feel like they can be on a real level with the band" - Jess Comber
"This idea is nice because I don't feel like they take themselves too seriously, which I like!" - Amy Barnes
"They look like something I would actually listen to, can't wait to see it!" - Sophie Francis
"I want to be in your band (laughs)" - Ben Campbell
